"Camber lives during a time when the magical Deryni rule the Kingdom of Gwynedd. When his son finds the true human king of Gwynedd Camber chooses to bring that King back to the throne. To do that he must sacrifice all he holds dear, including his own family, knowing in the end that not only ill he suffer, but also his family and his race to bring back the true heir to the throne."
