Plot Summary of Follow the Stars Home
"A single mother, Dianne, struggles to raise her daughter with Rett's syndrome after her husband abandoned her pregnant when he couldn't face a child born with genetic abnormalities. The story takes place when the daughter is eleven and Dianne comes to grips with the unforgiveness in her heart and the love her ex-husband's brother, Alan has for her and her daughter, Julia. Her daughter, Alan, Dianne's mother, and a 12 year old girl she foster cares who befriends Julia teach Dianne the power of love and forgiveness as they care for each other."
Joy, Resident Scholar

"Abandoned by her husband, Tim McIntosh, before their daughter was born, Dianne Robbins has spent eleven years caring for her exceptional child's every single need-almost alone. Tim couldn't accept the fact that their daughter Julia was deformed, and therefore not perfect and walked away. However, Tim's brother, Alan, who was Julia's doctor, sat back watching and caring, forever secretly in love with Dianne. But Dianne is afraid of loving again, so she is reluctant to move forward.

Eventually as this story moves on, Tim begins to win Dianne's heart, especially as Julia's needs become more serious, and he is needed all the more in the family picture."
