Shaye reluctantly goes along and meets the treasure hunt's director Samson VanBaar. His nephew Noah is an odd guy who immediately falls for Shaye. They get off to a terrible start. He's intrusive and considers Shaye prissy.

Shaye isn't thrilled with the less-than-stellar accommodations. Since she' is there she decides to make the best of things. Noah's cute, just not her cup of tea. She wonders if he has an attention disorder or if he is cutting off her sentences because he finds her boring. The fact that he keeps staring at her when thinks she isn't paying attention is a bit irritating.

When Noah goes swimming and disappears Shaye surprises herself with concern for his safety. Noah has been infringing on her personal thoughts and has named himself chief protector. Shaye just wants to be left alone. Now that Noah may have drowned she thinks about things differently. She sits with him when he comes surfaces spent but alive. She sits with a second time when he gets food poisoning on the ship.

Shaye starts thinking about the type of treasure she hopes to leave with. Most of her thoughts are centered around career advancement. The waves and roll of the sea made it easier for her to focus on things that make her happy.

Shaye is falling for Noah, even with childhood thoughts of a controlling father and herself as a rebellious teen played on repeat in her head. The more time they spend together the more Shaye is attracted to Noah. He quizzes her relentlessly about why she isn't married. Does she like sex? Has she had sex? Does she like men? She answers in the affirmative to all three. She doesn't tell Noah he makes her nervous. Shaye doesn't want to come off as being childish, even though he is making her a bit apprehensive to share things that she hasn't thought about in a long time.

She watches him at the helm of his uncles boat, she watches him as they dock. She allows him to make love to her once they hit shore. When they get back on the boat they continue to love each other down all night. Noah doesn't leave Shaye's bed and Victoria and Samson understand when they knock on the door that things just got a bit serious.

Victoria watches her niece closely for the duration of the trip. She knew that two weeks on the water would be good for Shaye. Victoria had been excited about the treasure hunt and travel to several Caribbean islands the minute the tickets were gifted to her. Hanging out with Samson hadn't been half bad. He could command a large boat, was a great host and cook, and he was sexy.

Noah's leg gets crushed by a giant rock as they two couples are searching for hidden treasure. While Samson and Victoria go back to the boat to see if there are tools that may help free Noah's leg, they also radio for help. While they are gone Noah and Shaye really talk. He tells her he loves her and that when they make love he'd like if she skipped the protection. He wants a baby with her in addition to wanting to make her his wife as soon as possible. She figures she knows what she wants in a career and it is time she give herself the treat of a good man as well. Noah tells her she doesn't have to work at all he has money. He also knows Shaye is an independent woman and that there will have to be compromises made on both sides.

Shaye and Noah both received great treasures on a trip she was reluctant to make.
Best part of story, including ending: I liked that Shaye and Noah caught feelings for one another.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene was Victoria inviting Shaye to travel with her.

Opinion about the main character: I liked that Shaye followed her gut and went on the trip, it may have
