Plot Summary of The Return of the King
"In the last book of this trilogy, the armies of good fight the overwhelming forces of Sauron in order to keep Sauron distracted so Frodo Baggins can, inch by inch, creep into Mordor and destroy the ring of power, which they hope will give Sauron a case of magical indigestion."
Steve, Resident Scholar

"The clash of titanic forces, battle scenes to end all battle scenes, the grand but bitter irony of the stealth attack by the most insignificant and bravest of all creatures: the hobbits. The victory is theirs, the crushing ignominy that of the once invicible armies of Sauron. Many healings and beauties are made, to last and beget more beauty. Yet the time of the elven kings is over, the power invested in the rings is dissolved, and the time of man is come. Yet the Shire has still to be saved and cleansed, for Saruman yet lives. And Frodo must find his hearts-ease in another land."
Michael JR Jose, Resident Scholar

"J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a great classic for all ages. It is a beautiful mastery of work composed of Hobbits, magic, and decption. Full of fights- kinife, battles, wars, magical battles, the book has them all.
THere are invasions and everything is pure fantasy. Science fiction will never be the same."

Jessica H., Resident Scholar

"It is the last book of the "Lord of the Ring". At last, the Ring is destroyed by Frodo and Sam, and Aragorn becomes the king."
