"Mark Foll is working in a call centre. One day his boss tells him he could do better and sends him to Waverly Insurance. Once he is working there, he asks for "more interesting work" and his boss teams him up with Giles.
Together they visit people as claims adjusters.
Then they get send to a village, Marston Green, where there may or may not be a cluster of cancer , which may or may not be due to the waste management company that is a client of Waverly. They are send over there to see what's going on. They meet people from an action group and from the waste management company. To make things even more complicated, Mark falls in love with a woman from the action group
