| Plot Summary of Moonrise |
" Ever since the incident with the young wildcat, the Phantom's strong young black stallion son has been running free. Already possessing his own harem, Sam is content to watch him run wild on the Nevada plains. However, a dangerous encounter with Linc Slocum's vicious hunting dogs happens between Sam and her father as they are riding. Furious at Slocum for his ignorance and lack of concern for her father, Sam angrily tells Slocum off, who, as usual, ignores her.
With the dangerous dogs running wild, Sam is worried about the young foals of the various herds. The Phantom and his son are enemies, fighting for each other's herd mares, and will they come together to protect their family against danger? As Sam and her friend Jennifer Kenworthy are out on a cattle round-up as a Father's Day gift, they both witness Slocum's complete ignorance, but he gets what he deserves in the end. "
