"Molly Stern is an aspiring artist living in Los Angeles who works at a clothing store as her full-time job. On a night out with her best friend, Jaycee, Molly meets gorgeous and charming Liam McGuire. Liam is a talented musician who shares an instant attraction with Molly. Molly ends up leaving the club with Liam and they head to a deserted beach where they talk for hours and kiss. Liam and Molly start dating and going through the normal getting to know each other process. Liam takes Molly to meet his sculptress mother, Elizabeth, who lives in Napa valley. Molly and Elizabeth immediately bond. As the relationship deepens Molly discovers that Liam has a serious drug problem. Liam hangs out with Zander and Elena, two people who seem to encourage Liam's indulgences. Elena is constantly giving Molly a scowl and Molly suspects that she has had a previous relatinship with Liam. When Molly celebrates her twenty-seventh birthday Liam arrives at the party at 1:30 in the morning with Elena on his arm. Although Molly is angry at Liam's behavior he manages to get back in her good graces by giving her an original song he wrote for her as a birthday present. As Liam takes Molly further and further into his circle of friends and rock and roll parties he also encourages her to take Ecstasy and Coke. Molly ends up taking Ecstasy with Liam at a party and gets violently sick. Molly and Liam decide to take their relationship to the next level and move in together. After numerous drug-induced incidents Molly lays down the law and Liam vows to kick his habit. Although Liam attempts to stay clean, he ends up binging on drugs with Zander and overdosing. In the aftermath of Liam's overdose Molly is forced to confront Liam's devastating problem and their shattered relationship. "
