| Plot Summary of Prep |
"Lee Fiora decided to leave her family loving home from South Bend, Indiana to go to a prestigious private boarding school in Massachusetts. Being a scholarship student, Lee tries to adjust to the preppy surroundings of the Ault School. There are girls with their collars up carrying lacrosse sticks and boys who are good at every sport and even excel in school. Lee, not being as smart or as atheltic as them, observes these events. She draws more attention to other loners who haven't found a way to fit in yet. Still, she continues to observe all the other students, admiring their rich status and new activities.
Lee eventually participates in their school routines and even meets the most popular boy in school, who doesn't exactly become her boyfriend. Conflicts and arguments flare up when her parents visit and this whole social status thing takes a different turn. By senior year, Lee has finally established a place for herself at the Ault School but only to make a public blunder that has everyone in school talking about her. "
