Plot Summary of The Norman's Bride
"One night during a storm Royce feels a strange urge to go for a walk. While walking, he discovers the badly beaten body of a woman. The woman has been stabbed and beaten and is gravely ill for weeks. Royce cares for the young woman and when she wakes up, the woman has no idea who she is. She decides to call herself Isabel and she feels attracted to her caretaker. Royce begins to care for Isabel but because of the things he has done is his past and who he is, he knows nothing can come of their relationship. Royce is really William de Sevrin, an ex-henchman for King John. Royce has raped and pilliaged before but now seeks to do penance at the home of the local lord. Royce believes Isabel is from a wealthy family and so arranges for her to become a lady-in-waiting. Royce and Isabel fight their attraction but end up admitting their love for one another. Yet Isabel does not know anything about her past except that someone is trying to kill her. When she recovers her memory, she wants to marry Royce. Royce however is ashamed of his past but soon ends up admitting his love for Isabel. They marry but are never able to reveal their true identities to the world. "
