| Plot Summary of High-Stakes Passion |
"Audrey is a reporter sent on an undercover mission to interview the former rodeo champion, Mark Malone. She is at his ranch under the pretense of being the new housekeeper. Mark appears not to be the hero she thought he was, but rather an alcoholic with a crippled leg and a past filled with hurt over his abusive parents. Nevertheless, they are attracted to each other, but Audrey is bothered by his drinking. So through a game of poker, Audrey gets him to give up alcohol. Mark begins a transformation into a better person, and Audrey feels more and more guilty about deceiving Mark. She knows that the truth about her being a reporter won't stay hidden forever, and that she is in jeopardy of losing Mark when it does come out. "
