| Plot Summary of Bedlam Boyz |
"Kayla Smith, Liane and Billy are teenage runaways in LA. They escaped their foster home because the guy who ran the place wanted to sleep with Liane (Liane is beautiful, so almost every guy who sees her wants to sleep with her). While the three of them are shoplifting, a crazy guy appears and begins to shoot at people for no reason at all. Two people get killed and Billy and the gunman get shot. Kayla instinctively uses her healing powers (which she didn't know she possessed) to help Billy. Liane escapes, Billy, half-healed, is sent to a hospital, and Kayla and the gunman are taken to a police station (Kayla as a witness, the gunman for obvious reasons).
After talking to detectives, Kayla is taken to Elizabet (not a typo) Winters, a psychology therapist. Even though Kayla tries to hide the fact that she's a runaway, an orphan and a healer, Elizabet soon learns the truth. Since she's a healer too (only not so powerful as Kayla), she decides to take Kayla home with her, to teach her and, perhaps, to adopt her.
Unfortunately, Elizabet is not the only one who learns of Kayla's powers. There are two street gangs who try to get Kayla to work for them, and there are some elves of Unseelie Court (meaning, evil ones) who want to use her too. So Kayla gets kidnapped, and then kidnapped again, and, generally speaking, getting from one trouble to another. The fact that she falls in love with one of the gang members (yes, yes, Ramon is a nice guy who wants to leave the gang and to get back to school) doesn't exactly help her to stay away from the trouble. While constantly being in trouble, Kayla, with Elizabet's help, learns to better use her powers, and to use them without being killed in the process, since every healing is an exhausting experience.
