It starts with the story of the U-2 spy plane and covers the SR-71 Blackbird, which broke all air speed and height records. It covers in detail the development of stealth technology which even today gives us an extreme advantage in air superiority the world over.
The book also follows the careers of the two men who headed the Skunk Works team. Kelly Johnson and Ben Rich. It tells of the problems this awesome company dealt with due to the secret nature of their business. Imagine having to lose government contracts because you could not use the C.I.A. spy plane jobs on your resume.
