| Plot Summary of Girl Clown |
"In the summer of 1976, Mary Flynn runs away from home and joins the circus. Well, sort of. She graduated from Clown College the previous fall and decided to try her luck at a circus career. She joins a travelling three-ring circus. She shares living quarters in a converted school bus with three other male clowns, learns how to tear down a big top, and figures out survival tactics for life on the road.
Mary quickly makes friends with the clowns, who help her adapt to her new lifestyle. She also gets romantically involved with Larry, the boss clown. But Sam, the handsome canvas boss, is also interested in her, and Mary must decide whether to stay with Larry or pursue Sam. "
