| Plot Summary of Gray Hawk's Lady |
"Lady Genevieve sets out for the Blackfoot territory while her father has taken ill while researching American Indian tribes. Her father is in St. Louis and to keep their family honor and monies he must have this tribe represented and finish the book very soon. Genevieve hires two trappers to procure her an Indian. It is not until they are about to set sail on the steamship again to St. Louis that she find the man they procured was kidnapped.
But she is under a timetable and decides to keep him captive. Gray Hawk is worried about how his mother and sisters will be able to store enough food for the coming winter. When the steamship explodes and sinks he turns the tables on "Jenee". But, they both learn lessons while they travel back to his home, one of love and another about different cultures. As they travel to his people he teaches her what she will need for her book and she helps him understand that not all white men are what he sees in the fort. Along the way they begin to better understand each other as well as fall in love."
