Plot Summary of Time of the Twins - Dragonlance Legends 1
"This book is the first in the trilogy that follows DragonLance: Chronicles, Time of the Twins follows the story of the twins, Raistlin and Carmon, and the kender, Tasselhoff Burrfoot.

Raistlin plans to challenge Takhisis—the Queen of Darkness. In order to gain needed power, he travels back in time to learn from the most powerful mage in all of history—Fistandantilus. It is the time of the Kingpriest, a man legendary for his goodness—but also for calling down the horrors of the Cataclysm through the demands he placed on the gods.

Raistlin, though, needs the assistance of someone who is pure of heart and completely good—a true cleric of Paladine. He finds this person in Crysania, a rather myopic cleric who is convinced of her faith and rightness and believes that she can redeem Raistlin from his evil ways. He manages to manipulate the mages of his present time to send Crysania and Caramon back in time to stop him. More accurately, Crysania is sent back to die and Caramon is sent back to “save a soul,” his own. Tas gets sent back purely by accident—an accident which would have very far-reaching effects.

Back in time, Caramon and Tas are quickly picked up and handed over as slaves to be trained as gladiators. Crysania joins the church. The three of them know that the Cataclysm is coming, but they must first find Raistlin and either kill him or remove him.
