Plot Summary of The Guarder Factor
"

Novel, 2003, 269 pp.
ISBN: 1591051827

The United Earthian Nations Judiciary Board observes the recording of the deadly intensity of the pirate assault on the large super cargo-liner. This was not just another incident over the SouthWestern Corporate Grid-Sector as has frequently occurred over the past four E-years. The ship carrying advanced military weapons was destroyed. The board sends two Guarder Squadron members rather than the FlightForce Fleet to gather information to keep the pirates from hiding in their hovels.

Buzzer and Razor travel to Charter City on the planet Shining to begin their investigation. Almost from debarking they are attacked and quickly conclude that the local authorities are not going to cooperate. The two Guarders ask for additional help. A FlightForce Carrier is sent with instructions that Buzzer is in charge, intensifying a bad rivalry. The two Guarders now have a second group refusing to assist them as FlightForce seeks its own glory and goes after the pirates. As the bellicose situation deteriorates with allies acting more like foes; the Guarders have not confronted the pirates yet.

THE GUARDER FACTOR is an exciting but very realistic (meaning bloody) military science fiction that hooks the audience from the moment the pirates destroy the super cargo ship until the final confrontation. The rivalry between the two services is similar in many ways to the American military in the past though Joint cooperative efforts have reduced much of the costly intensity. The action packed story line vividly descriptive is not for the weak stomach. Buzzer is mindful of Sergeant Fury and along with Razor makes the tale seem even more genuine. Shawn P. Madison makes war in outer space seem vibrantly realistic.
