"Amanda Jaffe was a rising legal defense attorney until an encounter with a psychopath left her suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Amanda longs to return to normal, but when a popular senator (and friend of her father's) is murdered, a pimp is arrested for the crime. The police believe that Jon Dupre killed senator Travis over a dispute about a prostitute, and Jon is given a high profile defense attorney. When the attorney is murdereded during their first consultation, all other lawyers are afraid to work for Jon, and Amanda takes the case, seeing it as a challenge and a way to conquer her fear. But as she looks into Jon's claims to he is innocent, she realizes that he may be telling the truth. He may be a victim of a vast conspiracy reaching as high as the president of the United States."
