| Plot Summary of River Lady |
"Leah has loved Wesley since she was a little girl, so when she runs into him and offers herself to him she is devastated when he treats her like a harlot and tosses her a coin for her trouble. Nine months later, Wesley's wedding is interrupted and he is bound by honor to wed Leah instead. He hates this turn of events and blames it all on Leah.
Two kind women take it upon themselves to try and turn the situation around, they transform Leah into a beauty any man would want. Except Wesley. He is blinded by the scheming ways of his former wife-to-be. Leah soon tires of being treated poorly by Wesley and suggests that they divorce and she will move out West where no one will know her disgrace. Wesley's wife-to-be and her brother decide to go along for the ride and it is soon very evident which of the women is capable and which is spoiled. Leah tends to her own needs while the wife-to-be whines and cries to have everyone else do her bidding. Soon everyone in the camp is rooting for Leah to get the guy, even Wesley. But Leah needs a lot of convincing before she lets herself fall for Wesley again."
