| Plot Summary of Valentine's Legacy |
"The main male character has known the main female character since she was 14, and since then, they've competed against each other in horse racing. She goes to Europe after he supposedly "ruins" her. She goes to his cousins and offers herself as a nanny. She used to be a tomboy, but starts wearing dresses and doing her hair in lovely styles so that when the main male character comes to bring her home (as per her father's instructions), he doesn't recognize her immediately.
They fall in love, marry, and when he pleasures her in bed, she always ends up having nightmares about her childhood. In order to get rid of the nightmares, the male's cousins, their servants, his servants, and the female end up going to Okracoke Island (in NC's Outer Banks) to look for Blackbeard's treasure. They find it, but sink it because they feel that too many lives were taken to fill the treasure chest. The only piece the main characters keep is a necklace that belonged to Blackbeard's last wife (a cottonmouth snake crawled out of the chest with the necklace in its mouth)."
