| Plot Summary of Night Jasmine |
"Katie Raspanti, daughter of Italian immigrants, mus leave her home after witnessing her father commit an unspeakable crime. She finds shelter and work at the home of the Eagans, one of New Orlean's most prestigious families. Janet, the lady of the house, comes to dislike her while her eldest son Stephen falls in love with her. He must choose: leave everything he has, and everything he was raised to be, or live without the woman he loves. Wealth and power prove to have no hold over him. However, Stephen and Katie's new life is jolted because of World War One."
