| Plot Summary of Silence in Solitude |
"This is the second book in a series that definitely needs to be read in order - the first book is Five-Twelfths of Heaven. In this book, Silence must rescue the Shazadi of Inarime in order to get the Portolan the group needs to find the lost road to Earth. The Shazadi is being held captive/prisoner in the Woman's Palace on the Hegemon's homeworld. Since men aren't allowed there, Silence has to do virtually all of it by herself - hence the title. This book isn't as strong as either the first or the third books of the series, but still worth reading."
