Plot Summary of The Informer
"Shigeo Segawa, former stockbroker, has hit bottom. Years ago he gave up his beloved, Eiko Murozaki, and allowed her to marry their rich friend, Shoichi Ogino; some years afterwards, he was fired for manipulating stocks. One day he meets Kazumi Yamaguchi, who once substituted Eiko in Segawa's mind, and along with friend Shozo Ogushi they lead him into a seemingly stable job with Mikio Sakai, a small-time goods trader.
Sakai's operation, however, is actually the front for an industrial spying agency. Segawa gets a secret mission to investigate a new product codenamed "Paramizol" currently under secret research by Shichiyo Chemicals, which is owned by none other than old friend and rival, Shoichi Ogino... Along the way he seduces one of the chemists in charge and rekindles his old affair with Eiko...
Then, when nobody expects it, Ogino is brutally murdered, and then Kazumi is taken down as well. Segawa is the obvious suspect, but DA Saburo Kirishima has his doubts, and with the aid of his girlfriend, Kyoko Tatsuda, he begins to investigate further...

Only Kirishima and Kyoko can save Segawa from the death penalty for a murder he did not commit. You will be surprised at what they find out."
