"Oh no! The Nextwave of invaders have come to conquer Xanth, and they mean business! Mare Imbri, one of the gourd world's Night Mares, is selected to be the liasion between the gourd world and Xanth proper, but no one can understand her message... "Beware the Horseman!" King Trent has been stricken ill, and just as temporary King Dor becomes competent at repeling the Mundane army, he too gets stricken. As each of the few remaining Magician-class men take the throne, the same thing happens to them. At the rate they're going, who will save Xanth from the invading horde?"
