| Plot Summary of A Christmas Dream |
"A Christmas Dream is set in Duluth, MN, where Susan Quincey is trying to raise her young son, Jeremy, alone, after Susan's husband, Mark, was killed by "friendly fire" in Desert Storm. Susan's boss, Kevin Dockter, comes to her rescue when her car won't start on a cold winter afternoon, offering to "jump her." Kevin is set out to win her heart, but decides to do it by first winning Jeremy's approval. The book is filled with emotion, tenderness and wholesome family appeal. It has been used as reading assignments for junior high/high school age English classes. It comes complete with a trip to the North Pole, two "real" Santa Clauses, a lopsided reindeer named Buford who is absolutely indestructible, trips to McDonalds and in the end Susan gets her Christmas Dream and even Santa gets a Christmas present! A "must read" for anyone who has lost the Christmas spirit, and especially for anyone who has lost a loved one in Desert Storm. Has real healing qualities--and a lot of Christmas magic!"
