"An adventurous hero rushing to find the truth about an ancient city and a great prophesy about an asteroid that would soon destroy the earth. Hero finds out about another, even more deadly and dangerous secret, which he then sets out to Antarctica to destroy."
Krysta, Resident Scholar

"Atlantis Found is the new novel by Clive Cussler, documenting the adventures of his almost-superhero Dirk Pitt. Dirk Pitt is like the James Bond of the sea, he is indestructible, but gets a bit battered on his adventures, (in which he makes deadly enemies), but he always gets the woman and saves the day. Dirk's hobbies are fine foods and wines and the restoration of rare and fine cars. (The detail is incredible, I can only assume that these are the hobbies of the author, also.)

Anyway, to Atlantis Found. A chain of weird events in the Antartic point towards a global conspiracy, the consequences of which will be catastrophic. They centre around ancient artifacts found dotted throughout the world. When Dirk Pitt and Numa find one, they realise that they are holding a part of a puzzle but they are far behind their adversaries, and the race is on for the next. With Dirk, as usual, are Al and Rudy, friends almost to the end. With a cast of villains and strange inventions, the story is set. "
