| Plot Summary of Legacy of Secrets |
"Shannon Keeffe's wealthy father is found shot dead or everyone except her thinks it is suicide. However, she feels it must be murder, and to find the killer, she goes back to her ancestral home to find suspects. She goes to an estate in Ireland where she meets Maudie, who know all about her family tree, as she is part of it (a great Aunt to Shannon).
It all stems from Shannon's grandmother, Lily Molyneux, who was regarded as a manipulative tart. Growing up, Lily was great friends with one of her servants named Finn, who lived with his father and his brother, Daniel, on the Estate. Finn loved Lily with all his heart. When Lily debuted on the social scene, she wanted to marry a notorious womaniser and so flirted with him. He wasn't interested in marriage and basically raped her, leaving her pregnant. Lily was too ashamed to tell people who the real father was and so told her father that the baby was Finn's. Her father banished her to America and disowned her. He fired Finn and probably would have killed him if Finn hadn't run for his life. Finn hated Lily for what she had said and vowed revenge.
Fate has it that they are on the same ship, and the ship sinks, leaving them unaware of each other's fate. Lily is taken in by the Sheridan family who nurse her back to health. Ned Sheridan, the son of the family, falls in love with her and vows to marry her after his attempt to become a big theatre star. Her baby is born there, however she leaves before she sees it, vowing to send money to the baby but that she never wants it to be part of her life.
Finn goes on to become a wealthy stockbroker and his brother Daniel becomes wealthy by building his own grocery business, having shops all over the USA and by becoming a Senator. Lily marries a rich, older man and has an affair with Ned Sheridan. She cuts off this affair when she sees Finn again.
Finn gets her pregnant and leaves her (carrying out his revenge).
Lily claims the baby to be her husband's but he knows different but before he can divorce her, he dies.
She meets up with Daniel, who doesn't know the baby is his brothers', and they end up marrying. When the truth is revealed, Finn and Daniel fight, leaving Daniel in a wheelchair and they never set eyes on each other again. Daniel divorces Lily who then spends all her time with her child. Shannon and Maudie must work out which descendant is responsible for the murder and why. "
