Plot Summary of Hyperion
"Hyperion follows the story of 7 pilgrims, each trying to reach the mysterious time tombs for their own different reasons. While a war is about to break, they have to unravel the secrets of the Tombs... and of the monster that guards them, The Shrike.

"

Omer, Resident Scholar

"Hyperion is a multifaceted story about a group of pilgrims journeying to what they think will be their deaths at the Time Tombs on the planet Hyperion. Each tells their story, in an attempt to create a picture of what might happen when the time tonbs, moving backward through time, open. At the same time, the Hegemony, governing hundreds of planets, is moving towards war with the Ousters (Humans who stay in space), and everyone is trying to find out more about the Technocore - AI's who run much of the Hegemony's political and communicative structures, and who have their own agenda..."
Paul W, Resident Scholar
