" Wil Morgan was the son of a sailing ship captain and a school teacher from France. His parents moved to Minnesota's Bigfork River Valley to start a new life with his mother schooling him and his father teaching him about the world he knew, from being a ship's captain. When Wil was a child, his father went on a trip leaving him and his mother on the river. Two white slavers broke into their home stealing his mother and leaving Wil all alone, waiting for someone to rescue him. As he grew older, the faces of those bad men continued to plague him. Wil falls in love with an Indian girl named Flower and together they make a home in a remote part of the valley, trapping and hunting to earn a living from the river.
On a trip to the rendezvous they rescue a young oriental girl from the very slavers that had killed his mother. Wil purchases the girl and then the men try to get her back. The story makes some interesting turns and Wil and his friend Bustikogan follow the slavers across the prairie states and into the Rocky Mountains, seeking revenge.
