| Plot Summary of Scandal's Lady |
"When Nicholas St. John returns to England to accept his responsibilities as the Earl of Lynton, he does not expect to find his childhood friend, Cassandra Aldrich, working as a governess. Hiding her beauty under an ugly mobcap and glasses she doesn't need, Cassandra has had to go into service following a devastating scandal that happened during her first season out in society and dashed her hopes of ever marrying well. When she is fired from her position, Nicholas hires her as a governess for two little girls he is looking after for a friend, but in reality, he wants to get close to her and find out what happened to put her in this position. Finding out that she had let herself be seduced by a notorious rake, Nicholas is devastated and says he will have nothing more to do with her. But love has a way of erasing all difficulties."
