| Plot Summary of Passage To Freedom - The Sugihara Story |
"This is a child's picture book about Chiune Sugihara, the Japanese diplomat who helped thousands of Jewish refugees in Lithuania escape Europe during the Holocaust. This story is told from the perspective of his five year-old son, Hiroki (who provided information for the story and wrote an afterword). Passage to Freedom explains from a child's perspective the events leading up to Chiune's decision to write visas for the refugees, and reflects upon the results of this decision from a grown man's perspective.
