"After the marriage of his sister and his best friend (The Husband List), the guardianship of the four Shelton sisters falls into the hands of Thomas Effington, Marquess of Helmsley, future duke of Roxborough. Of course, Thomas thought he was burdened by this responsibility until he met Marianne, the eldest of the four Shelton sister. His earlier plans to marry them off proved to be more than difficult now that he had fallen in love with this headstrong lass, who had told him herself that she never plans to marry. And when all his plans had failed to trap her into marriage, Marianne still has one more thing to teach him, the marriage lesson."
