"Emma Greyson is working as a lady's companion in hopes of acquiring enough money to keep her younger sister in school. She lost her inheritance in a seemingly bad investment, so when Edison Stokes asks her to also work for him for triple the wages, she can hardly refuse. While working together, Edison realizes that there is someone very dangerous trying to get to Emma because of the information she can give. Only he can learn the identity of the mastermind behind the recent murders and still try to keep a self-sufficent, very stubborn Emma out of harms way."
