Hiking in Grindelwald 1

Hiking in Grindelwald 1

Grindelwald is not only a very beautiful valley, with great views of surrounding snowcapped mountains, it is also a very well designed valley. Because the downhill slope of this valley is very gradual, many (though not all) of the paths going down to the valley are also gradual. My current favorite is simply to take a bus up to Grosse Scheidegg from Grindelwald and walk down the gently sloping road 2/3 of the way down to Grindelwald--you'll see great mountain slopes up close, wildflowers, and valley views. The last third has houses, and isn't so interesting, so after going 2/3 of the way down, go to the bus stop, go up a second time, and go down an alternate route for a different experience.
