Hi JB! I wrote Vulture Shock shortly before The Lion King movie was released back in the early 90's. I wish I could answer your questions about the illustrations but I had no communication with the artists. My editors were the ones who approved the illustrations. Hope that helps a bit! Thanks for posting!

Hello, Julie.
I have a question about one of your older books, "Vulture Shock" from The Lion King: Six New Adventures. In it, you describe a couple of lions in it named Leo and Mega (who you describe as "an old lion with a full mane"). They only appear together in one of the book's illustrations, and there's an illustration with only one of them in it later in the book.
However, it's not clear from the text who is who. In one illustration there is a golden lion (who is difficult to make out since he is in the background) and a tan lion. The tan lion has a few lines in his forehead and has a pretty large mane, making him fit the "old lion with a full mane" description of Mega.
But later on there's a scene where Leo is present but Mega apparently isn't, and the accompanying illustration shows that same tan, full-maned lion.
In spite of what the writing implies, some fans insist that the tan lion is Mega and the golden one in the background of the first picture is Leo. Was there some lack of communication between you and the illustrators, or did you really intend the tan lion to be Leo while the golden one was Mega?
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this kind of question, but I figure it couldn't hurt. (I wish I could post links to the illustrations to make things clearer, but apparently the forum won't let me.)
Thanks!

Hi Liana! Thanks for choosing "Bye Bye Boyfriend" for your book project! A little info about me: I grew up in New York City where I still live. Before writing books I wrote children's television shows for Nickelodeon and WWOR-TV in New York. Since then I've been writing books such as the Mary-Kate and Ashley series you are reading now. I'm so glad you enjoy them. Good luck with your book project, Liana!

Hi Alix! Thanks so much for your post! I know a little German since my parents were from Germany so I'm guessing Geheim Club means Secret Club in English? If so I wrote that book about 8 years ago! I live in New York City and write books and sometimes TV shows for kids. I'm glad you like the Mary-Kate and Ashley books. I never met the twins but I feel like I know them by now! Good luck with your report -- and Danke! Judy
