Hi Chris,
You are welcome. Thank you for the many happy hours I have spent with your books! If you would like to speak to Joel Wentworth, my husband, directly, look me up on google or in a phone book. My first name is spelled unusually enough that I am easier to find than he is...we are living in Omaha.
I think I still have one or two of the books about Rod's children to read, but I have read and loved all of the original Warlock books, and have groaned over many a pun with you. I even lived in Montclair at the same time at you, but never got up the courage to call and say "Linda Enders and Paul Baker say that you are just as much fun as your books"....so anyway, keep writing. Thanks for the update, Joel and my best to you and Linda. Amazing that you knew the same people at different times -- but that just goes to show that you both have good taste. Tell her "thank you" for me.
All best,
Chris

Hi Chris. No, I regrettably did not get your first of 2009 message. The fiancee I mentioned in 2008 has been my beloved wife - she's looking over my shoulder - since May. She brought a dowry of most of your books. She knew a lot of the people I knew in Lincoln, such as Baker, Linda E, and Rod M, just never at the same time as me. We live in Omaha, feel free to look up Laurey Steinke in order to find a breadcrumb trail to me

Joel, did you receive my beginning of 2009 message? Hope all is going well for you. For the Resident Viking and the Longtime Fan, my son is talking me into some 'gap-filling' stories -- he has some question about characters who only appeared once, and some loose ends. However, they'll be a while coming. Have to wait for my fabled web page to put the occasional short up -- if I ever get the web page started THANK YOU ALL for reading, and for encouragement.

I have been a dedicated "Warlock" fan since February 1978. I even used to have a copy of the original version of "King Kobold," but I lost it ( I wish I could get another). I am quite surprised with myself at how very keenly I felt the loss of an admittedly fictional character. Will there be any "gap-filling" stories? Will there be any more "Heirs" stories? Thank-you for many years of reading enjoyment!

Your resident Viking here once again!
Once more I entreat...I plead...I BEG for stories spanning the time between "Escape Velocity" and "Warlock in Spite of Himself"!
Having completed the "Warlock" arc, would it not be a good time to look to the origins of Gramarye? To reveal the exploits of the Romantic Emigres(nee SCA) in their search through the stars? To find excuses for even more outrageous puns? 8-)

Christopher, I can not express to you how important your books have been to me throughout my life. They have quite literally shaped who I am and continue to be guidepost when I'm trying to figure out my place in a very confusing life. They have been absolutely invaluable to me when it comes to explaining how I have become who I am to a good friend of mine as I have passed my collection of your books to her to read. As soon as she began to read them, she stated that it all made sense now, and I feel that shows just how influential your books have been. I look forward to passing them to my children when I eventually have some and hope that they can glean the type of insight and judgment that I have.

Thanks very much, Jon. I haven't stopped writing. In the last four years, I've writen three new books, not related to any of the preceding ones, and am currently working on a tale of a pocket war in the Asteroid Belt. Editors generally have pretty good judgement as to what the fans want to read. However, I'm not about to stop writing. I think the story about the wizard who accidentally changes himself into a frog and can't change back, would be enjoyable, so I may cobble up a website or a blog and put up a chapter for readers' reactions. If I do, I'll put my name on it, so google me now and then and see if I live up to my threats.
In the meantime, thanks very much for the kind of praise that keeps me going.

It has been about four years since the last release of a Stasheff book! Is there any hope of something new coming down the pike in the near future?
I have loved almost every book Stasheff has written, and miss seeing new titles!

Read A Warlock in Spite many years ago when trolling the library for something different to read. It then disappeared off the shelves and spent a long time trying to find a copy. Now I spend a long time searching for copies of all the Warlock, the Heirs, Company of Stars and so on that I can get my hands on as I have been told many of them are out of print and not available in Aust. Love the stories and never get sick of themes. Very intelligent. Thanks for a great read.
