I find that Greg Bear is the modern day equivalent, (or superior), of A.E. Van Vogt, Hienlen, Asmove, Paul Anderson, Levine and any others I can think of. He also elevates his story's scope and content to levels that no other have obtained. He takes dozens of remarkable concepts, any one of which would be the heart of a great work, and he weaves them into an alternate reality of astounding clarity and depth. Just a few thoughts on a great visionary... sorry for any misspelled words.
Beat Regards, Dave Stubblefield.
