Is anyone familiar with a James Patterson villain who is schizophrenic, allows his sister to drown, commits mass murder in public, gets acquitted not guilty by reason of insanity, goes to a mental hospital and escapes, then returns to his mothers's home where he is finally apprehended?
I was told that it is NOT an Alex Cross novel.
What is the title of the book?

Have been an avid fan of the Alex Cross series since day 1! Therefore as soon as I saw the new Cross Fire I bought it new off the shelf. I usually buy my books at Book Traders to keep the cost down. Sat down to enjoy my new book and was loving it up to the point that page 228 is followed by page 85. The book then contines from page 85 to page 132 and then switches back to page 277!! Needless to say I am missing 49 pages of my brand new book! How do I get them back?? I am an avid reader and have NEVER seen this before!

I can never find a book that holds my interest. Rarely do I finish up what I’ve started reading. That’s why it was refreshing to find Kiss the Girls by James Patterson. Not only did I complete this exciting, mystery thriller. I loved it.
The book takes place in Washington D.C. where Alex Cross works as both a homicide detective and police officer. Cross and his lifelong friend, detective John Sampson, team up in hope of catching national kidnappers. The kidnappers are competing to find and abduct gorgeous women from their homes. While one of the kidnappers, “the Gentlemen caller”, rapes and kills his victims, the other, “Casanova” seems to have a softer side. He keeps the talented women as a collection. It is Sampson and Cross’s job to find these men as well as the women they have affected.
As if the plot isn’t intriguing enough, Detective Cross’s niece appears to be kidnapped and fits the description of what these criminals seek. With his niece’s life hanging in the balance, the case becomes more vital than ever.
James Patterson does a wonderful job making the pages fly by. He averages about five pages per chapter, keeping you craving for more with each section. He also paints an extremely clear image of the characters. For example, he compares Alex Cross to a young Muhammad Ali.
Although Kiss the Girls is the second book in the Cross series, don’t let this deter you from reading it. The understanding of urgency and street smarts can be understood whether you’ve been with Cross through the first book, Along Came a Spider, or not. Patterson does an immense job filling in the reader from the very beginning by including descriptions of Cross’s family, neighborhood and past. In fact, I happened to have read Kiss the Girls first and feel it is influential without reading the first book.
If you’re looking for an exciting mystery novel, you’ll definitely enjoy Kiss the Girls. You’ll find yourself analyzing the clues alongside Cross the entire time. From start to finish this book is packed with interesting clues and crazy twists.

Just finished reading MARY MARY. I need help. It seems the DNA hair clue from the suspect was dropped from the plot at the end. How did the hair get on the back of the sticker???
Anyone else note this?

Hey guys,
Love this book. James Patterson is one of my favourite authors these days, plotlines are so fast and action packed that I never get bored.
I picked up a cheap copy of 'Hide and Seek' for $2.59 on awesomebooks[dot]com (its a UK site so I paid £1.79 in British money) and have bought loads more from there since. Normally takes 4-5 days from ordering to get to the States.
Anyone looking for a quick read, really recommend James Patterson.

Allie, what book are you specifically talking about? There are three different series (Alex Cross, Women's Murder Club and Maximum Ride. Each with many characters.
