| Plot Summary of A Matter of Pride |
"For several generations, a silver coin has been passed from mother to daughter in the Grant family. A good luck charm to join those destined to love. Eden Grant is from Boston, but is visiting England on her European tour. Soon after arriving, she loses the coin given to her by her mother. The only man who catches her attention in London is Trevor St. John, Earl of Reyburn. He also happens to be the only man who finds and keeps the coin. Trevor is looking for a proper wife, someone to help him maintain the respectibility he has rebuilt since the death of his wastrel father. He certainly isn't looking for an outspoken, unconventional American. But Eden finds herself in the middle of a scandal and ends up married to Trevor. She soon falls in love, but he is very uncomfortable with the strong feelings she elicits in him...something he never associated with marriage. "
