| Plot Summary of Helix |
"Something has gone wrong with a top-secret biological warfare experiment at CIA. Martin Reismann of the CIA and Sergei Petrov of Russia's Foreign Intllegence Service have very little time to find out what it is. As they follow the trail of an assassin, they discover a hidden gene splice from a CIA lab has made its way into the Russian grain supply.
This novel touches on the fears of all those who are apprehensive about the government's use of recombinant DNA and the possible effect it could have as a weapon in biological warfare. Experience the terror of realizing that those fears have become a reality.

"Chechen terroists fight back against their Russian foes using a failed idea in bio-weapons hatched by the CIA. Martin, the protagnist, searches for a solution that will save the United States from harm and protect the antagonist, an elderly Chechen working for the CIA. The use of unique car bombs to eliminate targets, agricultural bio-weapons and interesting locations for the action are all well done."

"Helix covers the use of biotechnology as a weapon by governments and the potetnial use of it by Islamic groups to avenge domination by the West. The hero of the piece and his lady solve technological problems and counter the work of a sympathetic antagonist, fighting to keep American involvement in the intial project a secret. Sub-plots covering the ties of Russian Intellegence to the CIA and of various Islamic groups make this spy thriller very readable and a mystery."

"Helix a warning? Terrorism is usually identified with explosives and arms. This book shows that bio-terrorism can expose humanity to far more terrifying threats. Manipulation of genes in grain seeds is already common practice so the stairs to terrorisma is just one step."
George H. Kellersmann, Resident Scholar
