Plot Summary of Cry the Night
"The novel begins in the past, at a remote creek on the edge of the wilderness, where the body of a murdered ten-year-old girl is found.

The story shifts to the present, with four young men and one teenage girl deciding to explore the rugged ridges, valleys and caves in the vicinity of a large cattle property at which they are staying. The bushwalkers unwittingly enter the territory which a psychopath believes to be his, and in the heart of a hidden valley, they make an horrific discovery. From then on they are engrossed in a struggle for survival, with each being forced to face their deepest fears, being pitted against the extremely difficult terrain at night, as well as the relentless hunter - a demented serial killer who lives in a world of delusion and sexual darkness."
