Plot Summary of How to be Good
"David is the angriest man in Holloway - he's angry about little old ladies on busses, he's angry about theatres and the little icecreams they sell. His long suffering wife has had about just as much as she can take of his continual sarcasm and starts talkig about divorce. The David meets GoodNews, an eccentric man with a capacity to heal and a will to change the world. First stop, David, and then children Tom and Molly. Dr Carr (wife and narrator) doesn't belive in GoodNews, doesn't want a homeless ald living in her house or her lfie turned upside down. She likes the new smug husband even less than she liked the old cynical one. This is a clever, insightful book, it will make you laugh and it will make you wonder."
Bryn Pearson, Resident Scholar

"Katie Carr is a good person. She is a doctor. She loves and finanically supports her family. Yet, Katie is unhappy with her husband. David is "The Angriest Man in Holloway" and his cynical view of life has worn Katie down. But amazingly, when David meets a guru, he becomes a Good Person. David is now a "give-your-computers,-toys,-money-and-food-to-the-less-fortunate", "happy-go-lucky" good person and Katie can no longer stand to be around him. But does this make Katie less of a good person? And how good can a good person be? Katie and her family soon discover how it is to be good."
Claire Cooper, Resident Scholar
