Plot Summary of Obscene Profits: the Entrepreneurs of Pornography in the Cyber Age
"Lane, an attorney and computer consultant specializing in Internet legal issues, has written a thoughtful, readable account of the role of pornography as a business venture on the Internet. There's a brief pre-history of sex entertainment through the ages, and then Lane introduces us to various savvy net sex profiteers, from Danni Ashe and "Persian Kitty" to Seth Warshavsky of Candyland.com and Club Love. Rather than focus on content, Lane explains business plans, legal issues, and how market forces come into play such that pornography has remained just about the only profitable venture on the Internet (and perhaps makes possible everything else that we do here)."
David Loftus, Resident Scholar
