| Plot Summary of The Crystal Key |
"Inspired by accounts of The Crystal Skull discovered in a ruined Mayan temple in 1924, this work seeks to explain the secret of the Skull. The heroine is primarily interested in finding out why her brother died in Belize and the meaning of a rod of crystal he sent her just before his demise. She is aided in her quest by her brother's best friend, her constant suitor and a zoologist who is in Belize to save the jaguar. Despite kidnapping and murder they fight their way through dense rain forests and over unexplored mountains to a lost city hidden in a magnificent river valley. There the secret of the skull is revealed, the bad guys get their's, and the heroine finally decides it is time to marry her lover."
