| Plot Summary of Semper Fi - The Corps 1 |
"Introduction of characters in series about Marine Corps going into and during WWII. The book begins with the Fourth Marines in Shanghai, just before the War, and follows the main characters through their assignments in the US and the Philippines as WWII begins. There are currently eight books in the series (this is number 1) and Griffin continues to tell the story of believable characters in historic settings."

"Killer McCoy is a United States Marine, formerly assigned to a division in China, but after a fight with Italian soldiers, he is reassigned. He meets a Malcom Pickering, and they become friends. He goes to a training school with Malcom and they both emerge as second lieutenants, and that is the begining of The Corps series by W.E.B. Griffin."
