| Plot Summary of If On A Winter's Night a Traveller |
"This novel is a treatise on all that makes a book. An imaginative and humourous exploration of all that is a book. In this nightmarish world for a reader we join forces with the Reader in the novel and are forced to stop reading a story just as it becomes most gripping and when the Reader reopens the book it turns out to be a completely different story which we are for a time again completely immersed in. The novel intersperses incomplete stories with the story of the Reader and his relationship with Ludmilla an avid reader, her sister who dissects books in a computer, a counterfeiter-translator who falsifies books and an older writer who tells the whole story. The novel explores the role of the writer, that of the reader and that of the publisher.
A difficult but truly rewarding discourse into all that is a book where nothing is quite as it seems.

"A little travel into books, and its effect on people. It is composed of 10 beginnings of 10 different romances, a true torture for the Reader (as well as the reader, yourself) which combines the search for these continuations with the newfound joy of meeting a female Reader. Skillfully told and very good! "
Sara, Resident Scholar
