Plot Summary of The Miracle at St. Bruno's
"The Miracle at St. Bruno's is the first book written by Philippa Carr. It is the beginning of a series of books that chronicle the lives of the women of a certain family.

This story starts out in the year 1522, Christmas, to be exact, during the reign of King Henry VIII. That was when the child was discovered in the crib of the Nativity scene at St. Bruno's Abbey. The monks thought it was a miracle. Nine months later, Damask Farland was born. Her family lived next door to the Abbey. Eventually, she met the young miracle, whom the monks had named Bruno, and was forevermore enchanted by him. Then King Henry disbanded the monasteries and the monks fled. Bruno learned the truth behind his origins, but he refused to accept it. Shortly after the Abbey was disbanded, Bruno disappeared, only to turn up years later as the new owner of St. Bruno's Abbey. Damask had always loved Bruno, so she was determined that he should accept the truth of his origins and grow away from it. She had no idea what she was up against..."
