| Plot Summary of The Lord and the Gypsy |
"Lord Lucian St. Clair returned from the wars with a heavy heart. The horrors of the war were nothing compared to the guilt he felt when he thought about the death of the woman he loved. He knew upon returning home that he was to marry Deirdre Breckenridge. He was unaware that she had loved him since she was six years old. She had to determine if he was still the man she loved or if he was the murdering rake that society declared him to be. So she instituted an elaborate charade, hiding behind a gypsy's face."
Laura J. Miller, Resident Scholar
