"When the Past Meets the Present follows American President Clive as he realizes too late what horrors he has unwittingly unleashed on the world, and his attempts---all futile in the face of political greed and human nature---to stop the extinction of humanity. Balancing this power struggle is another struggle, that of two New York City children, Daniel and Nancy, and Nancy's mother Claire, as they struggle to survive as victims of the monsters unleashed by that political greed."
