| Plot Summary of Letters |
"A revised edition of the original 1966 ed. with introductions by Walter Hooper and Warren Lewis. Covering 1916-1963 (the year of his death) this book sheds much valuable light on the life and works of CS Lewis. It is also an interesting source of comment-in-passing on many works of literature, friends of Lewis, moral issues, and the great, rich themes which fill his other works. It contains correspondence with American friends (to whom the book is dedicated) who generously supported him with gifts in wartime, or 'the lean years', as the dedication puts it."
