| Plot Summary of A Little Bit Wicked |
"Gideon Pearsall, Viscount Warton is in his early 30's and the pressure is on to find a suitable wife to bear the heir to his title. Still he is in no hurry. Several years earlier he had eloped only to find the woman he loved really loved her fiance and had used him to make her fiance jealous. Shortly after the ceremony their marriage had been annulled by her father and fiance. He vowed never to marry again or lose his heart again.
Judith, Lady Chester, was married at 17 and a very wealthy widow at 20. Blaming herself for her husband's death she also has vowed never to marry and lives an independent, barely respectable life; but most of all life on her terms.
Gideon and Judith meet at a muscale given by a mutual friend and even though acquainted find the sparks flying for the first time. Five days later they begin an affair that neither is prepared for. They agree it is just an adventure that either can leave when they choose only to find that neither really wants to leave.
Gideon's ex wife moves to London determinded to win him back and hosts a soiree inviting Judith former lovers(all 3 of them), hoping to put a wedger between them leaving Gideon for herself. She succeeds but only to find that Gideon refuses her advances and that as a result he realizes that he loves Judith. Judith realizing that she loves Gideon but is afraid she will fail him as she believes she failed her first husband. It takes his 3 friends, his busybody aunt and her much disliked sister in law to bring the 2 of them together."
